This one of the pots I've got out of the kiln recently. It's a wassail bowl-one of my favourite things to make. I saw them quite a lot in my chilhood in museums in Wales. Great fun to make but more decorative than functional!
When I went into the pottery on Friday morning there was a packet of Cadburys white chocolate buttons left from the children's class. (I did enjoy them!) But who wouldn't make nice pots like these for a packet of buttons. These pots were done by my class of 10 year olds. I am also posting a picture of a salt pig recently out of the kiln. The rabbit slid in the wet slip when I dipped it and I am not too sure what he's doing now.
I've spent the morning glazing and packing the kiln. Most of the pots that I've put into the firing are those made by my children's class. They really enjoy seeing their pots come through the firing and it helps to keep them motivated if they have finished pots to take home! I'll just post some photos of some old pots untill I can get some more photos.
It's been so much fun watching everybody else blog that I thought I really should share in the fun. Seeing Hannah McAndrew's post about her plates struck a cord as I have about a dozen slipped plates all ready for decorating and Monday morning I will not be able to ignore them any more.
