Here are a few pictures of pots out of the kiln this morning. I've tried to take a leaf from Ron's book and make the drawings of the rabbits more lively and free. Not too sure it worked but I did quite a bit of experimenting and will need to have a good look at the pots to see what I think worked best and what I might try again. On the outside of the mermaid bowl I gave her a purse. (Every girl should have one!) Kiln is now on again and the next batch of pots will be out on Sunday morning.
I think I like best the rabbits in the second picture (first top-down view of a bowl) because they certainly look like what I see in the fields around me.
I'm not sure if this is a good thing or not, but it also reminds me somewhat of a bowl we had when I was a child.
Hi, hope the show is good for you. If you happen across some burly Geordie potters called Andrew and Michael they are lovely chaps, a bit of a hand full but say hi to them from me if you do meet them. They never fail to make me laugh. Your pots should go down a storm, they are lovely.
I love the drawings on the pots. They look very free and whimisical, like they are based on historic images but with a contemporary lightness of hand and humor.
