Latest firing

Here are a few pictures of pots out of the kiln this morning. I've tried to take a leaf from Ron's book and make the drawings of the rabbits more lively and free. Not too sure it worked but I did quite a bit of experimenting and will need to have a good look at the pots to see what I think worked best and what I might try again.
On the outside of the mermaid bowl I gave her a purse. (Every girl should have one!)
Kiln is now on again and the next batch of pots will be out on Sunday morning.

  1. Very nice bowls. I like them all.

I think I like best the rabbits in the second picture (first top-down view of a bowl) because they certainly look like what I see in the fields around me.

I'm not sure if this is a good thing or not, but it also reminds me somewhat of a bowl we had when I was a child.

I am working on some rats for my next making cycle. Should be fun.

  5. Hi, hope the show is good for you. If you happen across some burly Geordie potters called Andrew and Michael they are lovely chaps, a bit of a hand full but say hi to them from me if you do meet them. They never fail to make me laugh. Your pots should go down a storm, they are lovely.

  7. I love the drawings on the pots. They look very free and whimisical, like they are based on historic images but with a contemporary lightness of hand and humor.
